Black Jewellers Survey

Black Jewellers Survey

Commissioned by The Goldsmiths’ Company, I created a visual identity and directed a video to promote the UK's first national Survey of Black Jewellers, a project led by Kassandra Lauren Gordon, a jeweller and activist.

‘The industry needs to look at itself.’

The survey looked at the experiences of racism black people faced in the jewellery industry.

Anonymous voice notes were shared by participants and these experiences became the main narrative voices throughout the video.

Bold & vibrant

The brief from The Goldsmiths’ Company called for bold and vibrant visuals, in contrast with the organisation’s more traditional brand identity.

Colourful, angular shapes are used to frame key narrative statements, and playful illustrations are used highlight the frustration and exasperation expressed in the experiences shared by the survey’s participants.

Let’s work together.
